John proposes capping real estate “pop-up” taxes to increase home values and making business taxes and regulations competitive with other states. |
| A Few Words From John... | In Michigan, we have seen a dramatic drop in our standard of living. We must change the way Lansing conducts business. The State must reduce the tax burden on its residents and businesses. It must also cut unnecessary spending, eliminate burdensome regulations and become competitive to attract new business. We are a proud, hard working people that take great pride in our homes and neighborhoods. To restore value in our homes and spur sales, I would immediately propose that real estate pop-up taxes be capped at a maximum of a 10% increase. This effort would do much to spur home sales and restore confidence in our economy. Furthermore, we can reduce present legislative costs by meeting part-time. 39 states have already done this. When elected, I pledge to do all I can so that our families will continue to enjoy living in our wonderful state. |
